Museums in Nashville, TN

Nashville, TN is a city filled with a rich history. One way the city keeps that history alive is by setting up exhibitions in local museums. These museums have artifacts from wars and other historical events. There are memorials of heroes and other honorable people. Since there are too many museums to cover, the two I will be highlighting are the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum and the Parthenon Museum. The reasons that I chose these two museums are that they are two of the most visited museums in all of Nashville, and they are completely different.

First up, we have the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum. This museum was established in 1964. It is one of the most extensive museums and research centers devoted to the preservation and interpretation of American vernacular music. Several exhibits are interactive by telling a story as you participate. If you enjoy old artifacts, there are many photographs, sound collections, art, and much more. There is another museum, which is primarily focused on musicians, and it is called Musicians Hall of Frame Museum. To be inducted in the Music Hall of Fame is truly the highest honor for any musician. Some of the instruments of Elvis Presley, Glen Campbell, James Jamerson, etc have their exhibits. No matter what genre of music you enjoy, these two museums will blow you away.

The Parthenon is located in Centennial Park in Nashville. This is a full-scale copy of the original Parthenon in Athens, Greece. Not only has this site been used in many movies, but also it is home to several galleries and exhibits displaying ancient Greece. The showstopper is the 42-foot-tall Athena Parthnenos statue that is located in the middle of the museum. This museum is truly a different museum compare to the others, but that is what makes it an interesting site.
